Does Employee Time Card use an internal time clock?

Employee Time Card uses the Window's internal time clock. If you are running Windows NT or 2000, you can secure the clock using the operating system. To the best of my knowledge, Windows 95/98 has no method of locking the internal time clock. Users that are aware of this will be able to change the clock and 'fool etc'. If this is a concern, you will need to put the computer in a supervised area or use the old fashioned time clock.

 What is Overtime Averaging?

Overtime is averaged for a 2 week period. To view overtime on a weekly basis, please change the pay period to weekly. Print the payroll report for the first week of the 2 week pay period, then change the pay period to the next week and print the report again. This will break the overtime down by week.

 Password retrieval

The password is set by the user and unfortunately we do not have access to it. At this time you have 2 options.
1> Reinstall Employee Time Card. If you do regular backups, you can restore your data and only have to reenter your activity since your last backup.
2> Email us the file called 'Timecard.mdb'. We will have our tech support remove the password and email the file back to you. You can then copy your existing 'timecard.mdb' file with the new one, then set a new password. If you choose this option, please note that there is a $100.00 service charge which must be paid by credit card at the time the file is emailed (include your credit card number and expiration date with the email). Also note that our tech support guys will have access to all of your payroll information that is contained in Employee Time Card. If this is a concern, then please do not choose option 2.

 Reinstall Instructions

It sounds like something may have been corrupted with your original install. Please reinstall the software. If possible, backup your data using the backup feature. After you reinstall, use the restore feature to get your data back into etc. If you are still experiencing problems, please let us know.

Removing employees from Employee Time Card

Employees can not be removed from Employee Time Card as they are needed when you reference previous schedules. You can move them out of your way, to the bottom of the list by simply adding a 'zzz' before there name. To do this, go to the administration menu and choose add/edit time cards. Then type 'zzz' in the employee name box just in front of the employee name. For example, change the employees name from 'John Doe' to 'zzz John Doe'. The name are sorted by alphabetical order. This causes the unwanted name to appear at the bottom of the list.

Importing names into Employee Time Card.

When the administration button is clicked, Employee Time Card looks in the c:\Windows directory for a file called esp_etc.txt . If the file exists, Employee Time Card will read this file and add any names that it does not already have to its employee list. This file is created automatically if you are a user of Employee Schedule Partner by espSoftware. If you would like to import names from another application, using the data you export from the other application, you must create a file (all values must be in quotes and separated by commas) and name it esp_etc.txt This file must be located in the c:\Windows directory. This file should only contain one field which is the employee name (first and last name in one field).

How to uninstall Employee Time Card
